I think they may lose me this season. The season premiere was just out there. The addition of the girl from Rescue Me just doesn't seem right along w/ the new gung-ho FBI agent that was added. I hope the next ep is a better one.

I thought it was pretty good. But I have never seen Rescue Me, so I don't know the actor, she seems ok to me.

I watched this show for the first time the other day. I was totally lost ... as in
I had no clue what was going on. I made it to about the 1/2 way mark and then turned to watch a rerun of something else. I just couldn't follow it and I sure won't be watching it again. |

I enjoyed the first few eps of this show when it premiered last year, but it began to lose me near the end of last season and I haven't tuned back into any of the eps this season.
Basically, when it premiered "Numb3rs" seemed to have two strong male/female combos: a male-and-female FBI agent couple and a male-and-female mathematician couple. However, by about the eighth episode they had pretty much written both women out of the series to concentrate on what the producers apparently considered the "more interesting" male characters. Since I like shows with strong female characters (i.e. Scully on "The X-Files" or Mac on "JAG") this show no longer holds much appeal for me. |

It's okay this season. When I see it on my TV, I'm not in a hurry to watch it but I enjoy it when I do. I don't care for the new chick on there (used to be on Rescue Me) but they seem to keep her in the background, so it's ok by me.
I wish Amida and Charlie had more screen time - they're very cute together. |

Well, I tried watching it a few more times... probably reruns, though I'm not sure. I still can't get into it. I just don't see how a mathematician plays a roll in solving every crime. I think that's the part that just doesn't grab me.

So Amita is still being kept in the background? I'd had hopes that they might beef up her role after Terry left, but apparently not.

I have started to watch Criminal Minds and I agree, it is a really good series. Let's just hope that it doesn't get cancelled like Just Legal which I found quirky enough to like, LOL

I watched last night's ep and it was okay. I do like Agent Edgerton (Lou Diamond Phillip's character) and will probably make an effort to watch every ep he's on. Don and Charlie continue to be funny together and the actors who portray them have good chemistry and do a good job creating a realistic sibling relationship.
My main problem with the show remains the same as it was near the end of last season: it's simply too much of a "boys' club" atmosphere to really hold my interest. It's like a cross between "Dragnet" and "Bonanza" or some of those other 60s shows where all the main characters are men and women are relegated to supporting roles or guest starring status. The opening credits showed two women, but only one of them was even in this ep and she wasn't in it very much. There's nothing particularly "wrong" with a show in which the important relationships are father/son and brother/brother, but it's simply not my cup of tea. I prefer shows with a focus on strong women characters and male/female relationships(i.e. Mulder and Scully on "The X-Files" or Mac and Stella on "CSI:NY" or the various women on "NCIS"). So, while I may tune into an occasional ep of "Numb3rs", it's not going to be "Must see TV" for me. |

I watched this show during its first season, only caught a couple of second season eps, but then watched the third season premiere because I'd read Lou Diamond Phillips would be in it and I like him.
Here's an observation based on observing the Eppes brothers in season one and then again in season three: they seem to have switched places. Both are -- and have been since the show began -- good-looking men who are good at their jobs and have a good relationship with their father and each other. But in season one, Don seemed to have other aspects of his life (independence, romantic relationships) more "together" and Charlie seemed vaguely pathetic (he still lived in the home his father owned and had, apparently, never had a girlfriend). Now Charlie owns a home (granted, his Dad lives in it with him, but there's a subtle difference between "still living at home" and having an elderly parent live with you in the home *you* own) and has a girlfriend. In contrast, Don was the one who came across as a vaguely pathetic figure in the season opener. He's nearly 40 and has never owned property or been married and he doesn't, apparently, even have a current girlfriend. |
