I think a few other people here also watched "Jake 2.0" during it's half-season run on the now-defucnt UPN back in 2003-04.
Here's some info on the show: the series is now being rerun on the Sci-Fi channel. (Which I don't get, but my Mom does, and she recorded some of the eps for me.) All the eps ever filmed are being run on the Sci-Fi channel, including several that never aired on UPN, due to the show's early cancellation.
On the show, there was major UST between Jake and Diane. This was pretty obvious; virtually every episode ended with Jake and Diane staring into each other's eyes and mumbling something geekily endearing to the other one.
Anyway. . .the "lost" episodes include a fantastic two-parter in which Jake and Diane do some major league smooching and almost end up having sex. Diane eventually says she's not ready to take things that far and Jake says it's okay they can wait, but they do end up snuggling up together (with Jake shirtless and Diane wearing some sort of sexy camisole) and "sleeping together" in the strictly literal sense of the words.
Since I was rooting for these two to get together from the Pilot ep onwards, I'm very happy! Seems more likely that the producer knew the show didn't have long to live and was trying to wrap things up with a coherent finale than leave the viewers hanging.
