TV Fanatic! Posts: 3561 09/18/06 22:19:19 THE CABLE BOX ezOp	Tags : None OMG! To quote "The Incredible".... THAT WAS TOTALLY WICKED!!!!! I felt like I was watching "The West Wing" when it was in all it's glory! I'm sooooo stoked! Matthew Perry was so convincing that I didn't see Chandler Bing..... Bradley Whitfield did come across pretty Josh Lymon-y though....but then again, he has had less space between shows and was still Josh when he shot this pilot I believe.... I loved Judd Hirsch's meltdown, Timothy Busfield's initial refusal to cut him off and DL Hughley and Sarah Paulson as part of the Big Three....I just hope that it held it's own against CSI:Miami.... I loathe Sorkin's liberal preachiness but I adore his writing style and I'm really looking forward to next Monday.....

According to TV Guide, CSI: Miami had 17.2 million viewers compared to Studio 60's 13.4 million. For comparison's sake, Medium (which was in this spot before) had 9.87 million viewers for its second season finale. I would say it is holding its own! TV Fanatic! Posts: 2876 09/25/06 16:05:08 THE CABLE BOX Administrator	I watched the first episode and loved it! I'm stealing from my site what I wrote up for a review because I'm lazy. Like any Aaron Sorkin show, this one is fast-paced and features tons of characters and walking. While I don't know who everyone is yet, I know I will so I'm going with the flow. I'm used to figuring it out as I go along. I laughed and was very entertained at the first episode. The only thing I didn't like was Amanda Peet. I have liked her in everything I have seen her in before, so I don't know what her deal is in this show. She didn't come across as someone in charge of anything, let alone a network. She also had the one expression the entire show. It was a bemused look or was it dazed? Either way, it was halfway to an actual expression, but was halted. Maybe by her tight hairstyle? My husband and I were ready to go find something to drink and down it the second she changed her expression, but it didn't happen. It became really apparent how out of place Amanda Peet was when she had to interact or just stand near Matthew Perry and Bradley Whitford. They play the writer and director of the SNL-type show that were fired (or quit?) a few years ago, and the show has slowly been going downhill since. Now that the show is in major trouble, they are brought back on. Those two are hilarious and can actually handle Sorkin's dialogue, which is so quick and the humor is so subtle. I love it. I loved Friends, but didn't realize how good of a comedic actor Matthew Perry was until he was making me laugh while standing around making a face while he tried to make a decision. Bradley Whitford is the same way, but I already knew that from the West Wing. I am looking forward to more of this show! "Studio 60" is apparently putting a lot of people off because it's too self important. I'll totally admit that I'm Aaron Sorkin's Bitch even though he hates me and much of what I believe in....but for people who aren't in love with his writing style, just hearing how much disdain he has for about 1/2 of the American population, they bail. Seriously, he's pissed at just about everyone and he keeps griding his axe instead of moving on....I've heard the term "Christian Right" more in 3 S60 episodes than I did in 7 seasons of the politically landscaped "West Wing".....and politics aside, a big part of the show is about how stupid the viewing public is....and while I agree with that on many levels, many people aren't willing to tune in to be told what idiots they are..... And like in any abusive relationship....I keep coming back for more....
