It is now official. The Writers Guild of America, the union that represents all of the Hollywood script writers, have gone on strike...the first time in 20 years.
While many of the prime-time comedies, dramas, and movies will not be directly affected since they have stockpiled scripts to last up to next year, live shows such as "Late Night With David Letterman", "The Daily Show With Jon Stewart" and "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno" will be going into repeats since those shows strictly depend on the writers.
The big argument is about getting paid for material being webcast on the Internet.
They predict it is going to be a long one....
