My sister in law used to watch it. I thought it was like American Idol, but Country Style.

I think you're talking about "Nashville Star"...the country counterpart of "Idol". This was more like "The Hills" with young ladies living in Nashville and their lives.

Never saw it or even heard of it. That said, I really don't think it's fair for any network to cancel any show after fewer than five airings.
Some shows take a while to build an audience base and if the network honchos think the shows are good enough to be put on the air at all, they ought to allow them at least a full month to develop, rather than yanking them off the air after two or three eps. |

FOX has had a tendency to do that as of late...yank a show immediately without giving it a chance. Which actually WASN'T the mentality that FOX had when it first launched as a network.
In the beginning, shows such as "Party Of Five" and "90210" had their bits of struggles. But FOX stayed the course with the shows, even though ratingswise they didn't start out strong, and eventually a fan base grew! "Melrose Place" was another show that did terrible at first...but once it was retooled with Heather Locklear and taking on more of a young soap opera style theme to it, the show took off. But in this day and age, it is about RIGHT NOW and if a show doesn't do it...RIGHT NOW, then off it goes. Which explains "Anchorwoman", the show about an ULTRA hot Miss something or another that was also on the WWE anchoring a newscast in Tyler, TX. No ratings so....OFF IT WENT! |
