I have always thought of him as a great ballplayer. He certainly meant a lot to the people of Minnesota and the Minnesota Twins, which he spent his entire career with, but retired early due to glaucoma, in 1995.

He was my childhood hero. Its so sad to see him go. His career and now his life were cut way to short.
